All are invited to enjoy an evening of free food and drink inspired by Denton’s ‘twin towns’ this January.
The relaxed drop-in evening will be taking place on Mon 19 Jan from 7pm in central Denton (more details to follow). Boses say it will be an opportunity to try something a little different, and is open to anyone curious about European culture, travel food, or who simply wants to meet new people locally.
With food and drink inspired by Denton’s twin towns and beyond, the open night is a chance to learn more about Denton’s twinning links with France and Germany. The event forms part of Denton Town Twinning’s ‘New Year. New Hobby.’ campaign, encouraging people to try something new as we head into 2026.
Denton has been twinned with Montigny-le-Bretonneux in France since 1992 and Kierspe in Germany since 2012. Denton Town Twinning Association organises cultural exchanges, social events and trips that build friendships and links between communities.
Cllr George Newton, Chair of Town Twinning, said: “What better way to start the New Year than with free food and drink? This will be a relaxed, informal evening for anyone curious about our twin towns or looking to try a new hobby in 2026. There’s no pressure — just come along, enjoy some food and drink, and find out what town twinning is all about.”
While the event is completely free, advanced registration is required to help organisers plan catering. Free tickets can be booked below.
