Dig The City will turn Manchester’s bustling concrete streets into a green amenity this summer as the annual urban gardening festival returns for its second year. Spanning King Street, Exchange Square, Manchester Cathedral and St Anne’s Square, the festival will feature a wide collection of flowers, a traditional country fete and markets across the city centre as it transforms the area into a horticultural paradise. Highlights include workshops with BBC Gardener’s World presenter Monty Don and a pop-up park, as well as fine food market over the final weekend of the festival, with leading food and drink retailers rubbing shoulders to provide high quality and sustainably sourced eats. Supported by the National Trust, the festival is the perfect opportunity to get your green fix if you’re stuck in the city all summer.
