Promising an innovative, inclusive and uniquely accessible new club night for people who struggle in traditional party spaces, Disco Neurotico takes over The Lowry on Sat 31 Aug with a wondrous and welcoming evening of sensory-friendly fun developed for the neurodivergent community and anybody who prefers a safer, more serene clubbing experience.

Founded and run by a cohort of neurodivergent artists, Disco Neurotico reappropriates the language of mockery and subjugation to present a celebration of the community’s sensitivities and lived experiences, offering a calm clubbing sanctuary for visitors while platforming neurodivergent artists throughout the night.

Beginning at 8pm, the one-off event encourages guests to arrive early to explore the space before the festivities kick off, with ample opportunity to acclimatise, meet other attendees and ask any questions, before the Silent Disco Space opens for an optional warm-up session to ease visitors into physical movement. From 8.30pm, the parties begin in earnest, with resident DJs spinning floor-filling tunes and ambient soundscapes in both the Silent Disco Space and the Noisy Space, where revelers can enjoy an authentic rave environment without the strobe lights and a raked seating area open for anyone needing to relax.

Elsewhere, attendees can enjoy the tranquil Calm Space with beanbags, projections and a soothing soundtrack, or head to the gaming area for a selection of board games, cards and digital play.

Throughout Disco Neurotico, attendees can signal their social comfort level with traffic light wristbands, while a specialist wellbeing officer will be on hand for any issues or queries.
