Book now: Dizzy Reece’s Routes in Jazz retrospective at Band on the Wall

This month Band on the Wall welcome a hugely talented ensemble of artists for a retrospective of legendary jazz trumpeter Dizzy Reece. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, Dizzy has led a prolific 70-year career since leaving his homeland at the young age of 17 on the HMT Empire Windrush. Dizzy honed his craft on the UK scene playing with the likes of Tubby Hayes, Ronnie Scott, and Victor Feldman, later settling in New York where he shared the stage with Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, and the legendary Miles Davis. This show will feature brand new arrangements of Reece’s music, performed by a dazzling international band line up, with award-winning British trumpeter Byron Wallen, US veteran saxophonist Ralph Moore, drummer Willie Jones III, bassist Dezron Douglas and led by renowned pianist Trevor Watkis.
