DJ Format at First Chop Brewing Arm

First Chop is craft brewing company whose HQ under a Salford railway arch doubles as music and club venue. No jokes about p*ss-ups in breweries, please. This Friday, the venue will host an exclusive performance by DJ Format, who will be bringing a night of breaks, funk, hip-hop, and soul. Armed with nothing but a bag of 7” singles, he will be mixing up a retro storm. Format (AKA Matt Ford) has been a professional DJ for over ten years and has released a host of mix LPs and four albums. His most recent album, The Foremost (2013), was an acclaimed collaboration with Philadelphia-based hip-hop artist Phill Most Chill. Support on the night comes from the In the Loop crew including sometime Wire writer, Agent J and Manc legend, Martin Brew.
