Doc’n Roll film festival makes its long-awaited return to Manchester for its fourth edition in the city.

This time round, eight feature-length music documentaries will be shown across film fanatic favourites, HOME and Chapeltown Picturehouse between Tue 2 Nov and Sun 7 Nov.

Following that, a further 13 full-length films will be available to watch online from Sun 7 Nov to Sun 21 Nov via Doc’n Roll TV.

Airing across this year’s lineup of stellar showings, will be features on art-pop adventurer St. Vincent, No Wave pioneer Lydia Lunch and influential singer-songwriter Karen Dalton.

There will also be films on spiritually-charged Irish singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey, classical/electronic iconoclast Matthew Herbert, Black Brazilian musical icon Dom Salvador, one man’s determined quest to explore the Talk Talk and Mark Hollis story, along with an in-depth history of drum and bass.

Doc’n Roll’s online offering will serve up an eclectic, era-and-genre-spanning collection of movies—from DIY labels and fabled studios, to Turkish composers and Marseille rappers.

Manchester is one of 12 cities across the UK welcoming Doc’n Roll this year. London, Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield are also involved.
