Multi award-winning solo artist, Beck, comes to Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse this July to present his 14th album: the Pharrell Williams-produced, Hyperspace. Coming to the fore in the early 1990s with breakthrough single Loser,Beck has carved out a singular career that has seen him experiment with a range of genres and sounds, releasing classic records along the way (such as 1996’s Odelay and 2002’s Sea Change) and garnering numerous plaudits, including 7 Grammy Awards. The latest record is a collection of minimalist synth-pop tracks and stripped-back R&B, with pop choruses and notable appearances from Chris Martin and Sky Ferreira. Throughout, the record bears the hallmarks of its producer, Williams, and seeing it performed at the Victoria Warehouse — alongside other material from the Beck canon — will be a highlight of Manchester’s musical summer.
