Manchester movie fans are spoilt for choice these days. In addition to HOME and the brand new ‘mini cini’ at Cultureplex, Northern film fanatics are about to be treated to a brand new Everyman Cinema smack-bang in the City Centre. Joining its popular Altrincham counterpart, Manchester’s second Everyman Cinema will open its doors just in time for Halloween, on Thu Oct 31, at a new St John’s Street location. This 11,000 sq ft new addition to the city will boast three screens (one 151 seater, one 87 seater and one cosy 26 seater) alongside a bar and lounge space that will feature appropriately named menu items like Spielburgers alongside sundaes and cocktails. This boutique cinema will also boast comfy sofas in every screen and aim to show a selection of independent, mainstream and classic movies, alongside occasional satellite broadcast events. To start with though, the venue plans to screen Todd Phillips’ Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix and a special Halloween screening of The Exorcist both on its opening night.
