Just as we’ve recovered from this year’s Sounds From The Other City, another leading new music festival will be landing in Manchester to kick off the second May bank holiday. Growing into quite the beast since its inception in 2005, Dot To Dot’s formula is one that punters are scrambling to get a dose of every year: A stellar bill of established and emerging artists at venues spread across the city centre that could double as a particularly sonically-pleasing pub crawl. Especially alluring is the prospect of The Horrors‘ grizzly electronic sounds, the multi-genre abilities and brazen, outspoken lyrics of Marika Hackman, a return of Ady Suleiman and his blend of neo-soul, jazz and R&B, along with the much-anticipated eccentric, summery sounds of Canadian quartet Peach Pit. Don’t just take our word for it, Dot To Dot won Best Festival for Emerging Talent and Best Multi Venue Festival last year. Oh, and did we mention the ticket price is ludicrously good value? There’s a lot to pack in one day, so here’s a pick of key stage times we don’t want you to miss:
The Horrors, 9.45pm – 11pm, Albert Hall
Marika Hackman, 7.15pm – 8pm, 02 Ritz
