Cult British footwear brand Dr Martens has opened its latest branch on Market Street, staging a return to Manchester after a ten year absence. The launch party saw the unveiling of a new mosaic by Mark Kennedy in the shape of a pair of classic DMs covered in images of local legends from Karl Marx to Morrissey. In keeping with the workwear aesthetic, checked shirts and leather satchels are on display alongside jewel-bright DMs and a range of limited-edition printed styles. Local girl Agyness Deyn (pictured), who grew up in Failsworth, launches a collection for the label on 15 August, featuring her own take on 1990s grunge, with print dresses, layered jersey separates and quirky accessories, all of which will be available in the new store.
