Grab your broom and dust off that wand because a dedicated Harry Potter festival is coming to The Printworks next month. DraigCon is an independent celebration of everything J.K Rowling created in her seven-part story of The Boy Who Lived and will feature guest appearances from select cast members; including Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley), Josh Herdman (Gregory Goyle), Scarlett Byrne (Pansy Parkinson) and more. Cast and crew will stick around for panel discussions throughout the day, in between a few autograph and photo sessions with lucky fans. The city-centre Printworks space will also welcome exclusive movie props, mini-Potter-themed exhibitions and a host of street vendors and markets that aim to bring a taste of Diagon Alley to Manchester. The event, which takes place on Sat 06 Jul, will start on Friday evening with an attempt to break the World Record for the most amount of Harry Potters in one place. So if you’ve got a pair of round-specs and a Gryffindor scarf laying around, now’s your time to shine.
The Printworks, Sat 06 – Sun 07 Jul 2019 (World record attempt eve Fri 20 Jul), 27 Withy Grove, Manchester M4 2BS, Tel: 0161 829 8000, £19.99 – £42.64, www.draigcon.com
