If you like wine, you’re probably familiar with national delivery companies such as Naked, Majestic and so on.  What you might not know is that there are a number of local suppliers offering wine delivery too. We’ve rounded up our favourites in our natural and organic wine guide here – and with Christmas just around the corner, we thought that city centre independent, Salut deserves a special mention.

The wine bar and shop off Market Street stocks over 400 wines, many of which are available by the glass (when not in Tier 3 of course…). They also do delivery around the region and within a one hour window to city centre addresses. The team hand-select all their wines from trusted small suppliers around the world and they have used their impressive knowledge and skill to create a Christmas Essentials Box. Packed with favourites such as Rioja, Malbec, Cava and tawny port, this collection of six bottles is designed to complement festive foods,  from turkey to cheese to leftovers. The box costs £65 (they have a larger, 12 bottle option for £135) and contains:-

Cava +&+ Seleccion Brut – a citrussy delight from Catalonia’s Bodegas Pinord

Stoney Range Sauvignon Blanc – a stone-cold classic from Marlborough, New Zealand

Dom Fichet Macon Villages – French Burgundy, a fabulous friend of turkey

Ramon Bilbao Rioja Crianza – a subtle take on the traditional Spanish red

Dona Paula Malbec – ideal with red meats, cheeses and, in our opinion, Christmas pudding.

Niepoort Tawny Dee – a grown up port best enjoyed by candlelight
