As the nights draw in and get even colder, it’s good to know that ales and ciders will help warm you up as our finest brewers create their winter mixes. Collecting the best from all around this fair isle is Chorlton drinking den Dulcimer, which have gathered winter warmers from the likes of Arbor, Magic Rock, Weird Beard, Thornbirdge and Red Willow, for its four-day Winter Ale Festival later this month. The bar will also launch its collaboration ale with local brewers First Chop, DAB (Dulcimer Brown Ale), during the event. Hopefully that special brew will be as popular as those of its near neighbours Electrik, with their own brew Blackout X.O. (a collaboration with Happy Valley Brewery) having recently been crowned as Champion Beer of Cheshire, a rich, delightful dark rum infused stouter brewed as part of the Electrik Ale Experiment. So head over to Wilbraham Road for the best in bitter this winter.
