Easy listening: Audible Silence at Victoria Baths

Ever lie there at night, listening to the sound of your own room and the tendrils of sound that make their way in from outside? Well you’re not alone, if this new event at Victoria Baths is anything to go by. A bit like meditation, or the silent services of the Religious Society of Friends, this evening session at Manchester’s iconic Victoria Baths is your chance to sit and listen to the sound of this old building, with all its creaks and quirks. Exploring acoustics in Manchester, this Audible Silence event is part of a series of workshops led by the artist, field recorder and composer Jez riley French for St Luke’s Media Art Project.
