Manchester-based chefs and restaurants collective Eat Well MCR has announced details of its annual fundraising dinner

Taking place on Mon 11 Mar, in collaboration with Northern Restaurant & Bar Trade Show, the latest edition will take over acclaimed new opening, Fenix, and bring together an incredible lineup of chefs for a special one-off dinner.

Comprising hospitality professionals and volunteers from various sectors, Eat Well MCR has made a remarkable impact by preparing and delivering over 100,000 meals since the beginning of lockdown in 2020, with a mission to provide meals to those living in challenging circumstances, including families in temporary accommodation, women in refuge, food banks, and schools
addressing food poverty.

Now in its third year, March’s fundraising dinner has been curated by Eat Well’s very own Mary-Ellen McTague, promising a culinary journey complete with welcome drinks, canapés, and an 8-course dinner with exquisite paired wines.

The event boasts an exceptional lineup of local and national chef talent, featuring renowned names such as Stosi Madi of the Parkers Arms, Clitheroe; Sally Abe of The Pem, London; Tom Barnes of Skof, Manchester; Mursal Saiq of Cue Point, London; Farida Hamad of Erst, Manchester; and many more, including the Fenix team.

Chef Mary-Ellen McTague said: “We cannot wait to come together to celebrate our wonderful hospitality scene and the launch of NRB and continue to raise essential funds for Eat Well MCR!”

The team has set their sights on an ambitious target of £20,000 “to surpass last year’s fundraising achievements, having raised £16,485. The funds generated will support the ongoing mission of delivering chef-made meals to those in need, sustaining Eat Well MCR’s impactful work within the community.”

Eat Well MCR has also announced the return of its Custodians Membership Programme for 2024. The initiative invites individuals to support the organisation’s future through an annual donation of £1,500. Members will become part of a community dedicated to safeguarding the future of Eat Well MCR and will be invited to an annual private, intimate dinner prepared by chef Mary-Ellen McTague at 10 Tib Lane this year.
