Jazz trumpeter Eddie Henderson is to perform with pianist Bruce Barth’s Trio at Manchester’s Band on the Wall. Since taking his first steps into a fusion and free jazz career as part of the Herbie Hancock Sextet in 1968, Henderson’s repertoire now spans more than five decades and, having released via genre-defining Blue Note and Steeplechase, he now spends part of his time passing on his extensive musical skill to the next generations as Associate Professor of Trumpet at the Oberlin Conservatory jazz department. The tour sees a collaboration with Barth, who counts over 100 movie soundtracks among his recording credits and regularly shares stages with the greats of the genre.
