Two of Manchester’s most exuberant design studios are combining for a weekend-long contemporary exhibition branching from their energetic prints. With previous clients including Sony and Manchester International Festival, DR.ME (Ryan Doyle and Mark Edwards) and SAVWO (John Powell-Jones) have been working alongside some of the University of Salford’s design and illustration students on a limited collection of works created over a two-week period. Inspired by a collection of 1970s and 1980s screen prints from the Manchester Print Workshop, the acclaimed designers have combined their genius with the Salford students’ own take, to create a limited selection of modern prints, zines, drawings, paintings and postcards. This weekend, ‘Exhibiton’ is displaying the results of the project at a studio space in Piccadilly. Expect forward-thinking, vibrant and innovative designs in this blend of established and future talents.
