Embankment Kitchen has unveiled its latest menu refresh just in time for the festive season, transforming classic yuletide crowd-pleasers into delicious contemporary dishes

The new menu has been specially curated by EK’s head chef, Josh Singleton, a Masterchef: The Professionals quarter finalist. Using locally sourced, winter season produce, the aim was to ‘create hearty dishes, full of flavour, leaving diners feeling warm and jubilant as they leave the cosy atmosphere of EK.’

Throughout November and December, guests can tuck into the Festive Set Menu which features both two and three-course options, both of which come with a glass of prosecco, bottled beer, Christmas cracker and homemade focaccia with whipped butter and olives (when booked for the whole table).

Mains include a turkey and pancetta pie with a herby stuffing crust, pan-fried duck breast with orange and cranberry braised red cabbage and a crispy roasted beetroot, mushroom and chestnut Wellington.

For starters, there is, of course, pigs in blankets along with sticky pork belly and firecracker cauliflower, while desserts include indulgent treats like the winter berry and cinnamon crumble, sticky toffee pudding and Embankment’s own take on Christmas pudding with brandy cream.

“My favourite dish on the menu is the slow-cooked beef short rib Bourguignon,” says Josh. “It’s a lovely dish that covers all of the points that I feel a winter dish should have: flavour, simplicity, and leaves you feeling extra satisfied.

“Our diverse dishes cater to everyone. I also feel that you can see and taste the freshness and passion we put into each and every item on our Winter Menu.”

From Tue 7 Nov – Sun 31 Dec, diners can tuck into two courses for £36, or three courses for £42, with food served from 5pm.

The Embankment team have also crafted a new seasonal cocktail menu. This features the ‘Naughty but Nice’ (honey tequila, cinnamon, champagne), ‘Chocolate Wonderland’ (Bailey’s, Mozart chocolate, Disaronno), and ‘Boozy Baubles’ (gin, lime, cranberry – served in a bauble). There will also be plenty of festive takes on cocktail staples, like the Gingerbread Old Fashioned, The Grinch Martini and a Sloe Negroni.
