This December, a creative team from the Royal Exchange will be leaving their cosy theatre for a much more unusual venue. New play At Night will be performed in a former fire station in Rochdale. The work is an exploration of what it is like to be a young person in Britain today, and centres on the risks that teenagers take after dark. Writer Louise Wallwein and director Evie Manning worked with teenagers from Rochdale to create this unique production. This is a ‘promenade’ event, during which the audience will walk around the venue to experience the performance. At Night is part of Truth About Youth, a programme that aims to challenge negative perceptions about young people. The venue is only a minute’s walk from Rochdale Railway Station (both the train and tram stops).
