Castlefield Gallery is bringing life into its creative space as Northern Art Prize shortlisted artist, Emily Speed, directs a physical display of her Build Up exhibition by real-life acrobats. The physical performers will run through a live version of Speed’s display in the gallery which sees them mimicking the rhythm of building and collapsing, inspired by and filmed at Manchester’s modernist landmark, the Toastrack building in Fallowfield. Running alongside the artist’s joint exhibition with Hayley Newman, the big idea is to explore the relationship between body and environment. Marking the final day of the show, this is a chance to take in Speed’s intriguing piece in the flesh. No booking required.
