The expert smelting of light and dark in Esben & The Witch’s live sets have been well documented since the release of their debut album, Violet Cries, in 2011. Calling upon the vivid themes of Victorian disease and gothic fairy tales (one of which they are named after), Esben & The Witch faultlessly tread the line between goth and pop, creating a kind of mystical awe in their live performances, which alongside their accomplished musicianship and ability to create a powerful, often overwhelming atmosphere in a venue, make them one of the most unique bands around.
