Escape to Freight Island, an immersive food, drink, art and music space at Mayfield Depot, has announced an incredible summer line up of bands, artists, clubs and collectives. Visitors to Freight Island can expect a Coney Island vibe with a roller disco rink, retro games and street food trucks – and some amazing live performances and takeovers from both local and international performers and brands. Highlights include Radio 6 DJ Gilles Peterson, DJ and music curator Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, and Ibiza regular Nancy Noise.
There’ll be takeovers from Homoelectric and Manchester Pride, as well as Manc music institution Band on the Wall. Freight Island is one of the most hotly-anticipated venues of the summer, due to its socially distanced open-air structure – in the absence of other festivals this summer, this is the perfect place to enjoy live performances safely. Due to coronavirus safety measures, table reservations are required and spaces are limited – the full lineup and information about booking can be found on their website.
