Euros Childs’ second Manchester gig in a year is no simple re-tread. His April appearance was a solo piano show; this Salford gig, presented like the last by Welsh music aficionado Cloud Sounds, is a full-band show launching this year’s ‘Summer Special’. That record is infectiously upbeat, worry-free pop that, like the album cover, cannot fail to put a sunny smile on your rain-beaten face. Eight albums into his solo (and now self-released) career, Euros Childs’ playful pop-psychedelia is still as creative and rewarding as ever.
