The producer behind both The xx‘s inimitable sound as well as his own dancefloor-inspired output, Jamie XX has become one of the most influential musicians of our generation – and Now Wave have convinced him to play a rare live solo show.. Remember the sublime We’re New Here – his 2011 rework of Gil Scott Heron’s I’m New Here – which included the likes of NY is Killing Me? Well more is on its way with a new solo EP in the pipeline as well as appearances for Jamie at his band’s own mini-festival, Night + Day, featuring Solange, Kindness, Mount Kimbie and other like-minded souls on 22 June in London. For an idea of what to expect from Jamie’s set, check out a recent back-to-back session with John Talabot on NTS Radio here. He’s joined by Hoya:Hoya founder Illum Sphere (debut album on Ninja Tune scheduled for later this year) for this one-off show.
