The Refuge by Volta is one of the city’s success stories of 2016. The elegant restaurant and bar is the baby of DJ/restaurateurs Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford (Electric Elephant, Electrik bar, Volta) and it launched to universal acclaim in September. The Refuge’s unique offer is small plates such as tender lamb, padron peppers, smoky feta and local beetroot, as well as fine wines and great cocktails in an really impressive Victorian-Gothic space. World-class DJs supply a funky soundtrack from the bar, and it’s as much a place to meet for a drink as to celebrate or enjoy a casual meal with friends. The Refuge is celebrating New Year’s Eve with a bash called Vogue as You Are, which includes cabaret, contemporary drag from the ChaCha Boudoir crew. The DJ line up takes in Krysko (WHP), DJ Paulette, Neil Diablo, Chris Massey, Dance Lady Dance and more. The party is totally sold out – but all is not lost as Manchester Wire has been offered five rooms for two, each with guaranteed entry to the party for £180 per room on New Year’s Eve. The former Palace Hotel was re-branded earlier this year, and is now called the Principal Manchester. Mark Ronson and the Sunday Times Style Magazine hosted the relaunch party – and it was a deserving fan fare. So what better way to experience the new-look hotel and Volta at the Refuge than on the biggest night of the year? To book your room and party tickets simply click on the booking link below and enter the promo code VOGUENYE for a room and party tickets for two people sharing, with a 2pm check out on Sunday 1 January 2017.
