Manchester Craft & Design Centre is famed for its boutique stores and its café, but the venue also has a small exhibition space. You don’t have long left to see the current exhibit – Modern Twist – because launching later this month is new exhibition entitled Athletically Pleasing.  This show centres on design, and the role it plays in sports – in clothing and in cutting-edge sports technology, where traditional materials such as ceramics, are making ground-breaking improvements to the way people exercise. Athletically Pleasing is a showcase of products that demonstrate how design and technology can be used to enhance both athletic performance and aesthetic appeal. The designers featured include: Adidas, Lululemon, Vollebak, Joseph Hartley and Chung Kong. The exhibition kicks off with a free launch event with refreshments, and also music from Ailsa McLaggan, resident DJ of Living Room Dance Club.
