Coinciding with Rogue Artists Studios Open Weekend (see our preview), the artist-led studio, Malgras|Naudet, located in the Rogue building, has invited Simon Morrissey director of Works|Projects Bristol, to present a group show of works. Called Things, the show conducts an investigation of the object and how objects become significant. Works|Projects is a commercial gallery that represents leading British artists such as Andy Holden, Richard Woods, Sarah Dobai and Richard Wilson taking in a range of media. Although based in Bristol, Works|Projects has strong links to the North West. Two of the gallery artists, David Mackintosh and Magnus Quaife (curator of Malgras|Maudet and Northern Art Prize nominee – see preview), are based in Manchester and the gallery also takes part in this year’s Manchester Contemporary.
