Anyone familiar with ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ knows the human anatomy lends itself well to rhyme. So it should be no surprise that local poet Ben Mellor has chosen the body as the subject for his latest show, Anthropoetry. A humorous spoken word and musical journey created in combination with musician Dan Steele, the show asks such humdingers as: how do we express our spleen? Why do we stick our noses into other people’s business? And who can’t tell their arse from their elbow? Wordsmith Ben has performed around the world and won the BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slam in 2009 so this performance should be a heart-warming delight.
