Internationally renowned, Manchester-based media and textile artist Andrea Zapp will be displaying her first luxury womenswear collection at Manchester Art Gallery. Inspired by travelling globally, Zapp’s collection takes its form from: urban views, rural panoramas, objects of culture and miniature scenarios, which combine into an eclectic visual portfolio. For this exhibition, three limited edition dresses have been exclusively designed using photographs taken of the Gallery’s decorative art collection, which have reappeared as curious printed patterns upon the dresses. Each dress will also feature on a unique online map interface that enables you to locate the background story for each photographic artwork via GPS coordinates.
