Manchester Psych Fest has announced its biggest ever line-up for its eighth edition on Saturday 5 September, featuring legendary alt-pop group, Stereolab. The Anglo-French band — led by Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane and known for classic 90’s albums such as Emperor Tomato Ketchup — headlining the festival, which will take place over five stages spread across three leading Manchester venues: YES, Gorilla and O2 Ritz. The lineup also features the post-punk force of Girl Band, the electro-pop of Stealing Sheep, and Japanese Psych favourites, Bo Ningen. The line-up also features local lo-fi pop heroes Bunny Hoova noise rock group The Claque and a varied roster of DJ appearances — including NTS resident Sofie K, The Beat Chics and Me Gusta. As well as the music, the all-dayer will showcase art installations and independent food stalls for an all-round celebration of psychedelic culture. And with another round of line-up announcements coming soon, it’s worth snatching those early bird tickets, which are available now.
