If, like me, you were first swept away by 1996’s extreme weather thriller Twister while the wind howled outside, then its iconic imagery of airborne cows and white-knuckle near-misses will be indelibly inked on your memory. For those who haven’t seen it, the film captures the white-knuckle chases of Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton’s storm trackers in rural Oklahoma. Either way, the RAD Screenings event as part of Manchester Science Festival is one not to miss, particularly with a team of tornado experts lined up for a post-movie Q&A to shed light on the discipline.
