Join Filmonik tonight for a special preview screening of 28-minute documentary short Headlands Lookout. Created by collaborative artists Nick Jordan and Jacob Cartwright, the film centres on the Marin Headlands: a stretch of Pacific coastline just north of San Francisco, offering fabulous views, hilly landscape and atmospheric fog. Accompanied by a soundtrack of local Bay Area poets, Cartwright and Jordan explore the changing activity in the area over time – from its use as a military site to its links with 1960s counterculture and the arts. A Q&A session will also follow the film. If you like what you see, check out Jacob’s solo exhibition Angle Shades at Bureau Gallery (on till the end of June) to see a collection of his paintings as well as more films. Alongside Headlands Lookout, Filmonik will be screening James Broughton’s 16mm short film This Is It – don’t miss a rare chance to catch it.
