Having people round for dinner can be an absolute chore – in fact, cooking for yourself can be a bit of a headache sometimes, too, especially if you’ve got used to the bright lights of the best restaurants. Laurence Tottingham – head chef at Aumbry and protege of Heston Blumenthal, don’t you know – has launched his new ‘Aumbry at Home’ service with these first world problems in mind. Far from being a take-away, Tottingham actually comes round to your house to cook you something up – and he can bring along front-of-house staff and a wine-matching service with him if you’d like, too. Going from fine-dining for two through to corporate events and dinner parties, Laurence will work with the hosts to craft a menu to their tastes. We imagine it’s going to cost a little bit more than ordering in from the local curry house, but trust us – it’ll be worth it.
