Stockport has gained a new cultural hotspot at the centre of its hub of independent businesses. GINKGO is your one-stop shop for natural, eco-friendly and sustainable products – from skincare and loose-leaf teas, to nutritional supplements and vitamins.

Having launched the first GINKGO store in the heart of Altrincham, the new shop is situated on Stockport’s lively and vibrant Lower Hillgate, opposite Hillgate Cakery and next door to Sophia Rosemary’s Top of the Town vintage clothing store.

GINKGO’s mission is to promote health, wellness and the ancient wisdom of natural healing to the people of Manchester by introducing them to the incredible benefits of herbs and natural medicines, as well as environmentally friendly, ethical and sustainable living.

Hailing from London, sisters Qayyah and Safiyyah decided to return to their South Manchester roots – the home of their mother – to launch GINKGO, and have been working with and supporting other local businesses and their products. Once in the store, expect to find items from local glassblowers, illustrators, seamstresses, chai makers and pottery studios.

The shop includes a zero-waste refill station, skin and body care products, high quality nutritional supplements and vitamins, toothpastes, natural deodorants, essential oils, bath salts and tea blends recently featured in VOGUE. There are also plans for the Stockport branch to expand to serve herbal teas, mocktails and eventually hold workshops.

GINKGO is open every Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 4:30pm and you can find it at 17A Lower Hillgate.
