Trip out of town: Staly Summer Fest at Stalybridge Buffet Bar
As part of Manchester Beer Week, out-of-town Victorian train platform pub Stalybridge Buffet Bar is hosting a summer beer festival featuring brews from Track, Blackjack, First Chop, Manchester Brew Co., Marble, Beer Nouveau, Se7en Brothers, Squawk, Beatniks Republic, Chorlton Brew Co. and Cloudwater. An Asian street food menu will be on hand, serving kara-age fried chicken served in a steamed bun, kimchi slaw, pickled cucumber, or katsu cod breaded, Japanese tartare sauce, iceberg lettuce and pickles, all served with parmesan and rosemary sweet potato fries. There will also be nibbles such as Brussel sprouts with ponzu and pomegranate or bulgogi and cheddar wontons. There will be live music playing all day, make the ten minute train journey and head down to peruse the beer bars.

Meet the brewer: Hawkshead event at Pie & Ale
Northern Quarter bar and restaurant Pie & Ale is collaborating with Cumbrian brewery Hawkshead for a meet the brewer event. Whilst guests are talked through signature beers, they will be served a flight of different cask brews and a pie, all for £17.

Hops vs. Herbs beer & food pairing with Northern Monk & co. at Font Chorlton
As part of Manchester Beer Week, four Leeds breweries are hopping over the Pennines to join forces with Font Chorlton, to create a one-off, four-course menu. Each course showcases a particular herb, alongside beers from Northern Monk, Ridgeside, North Brewing Co. and Zapato. The Hops vs Herbs food and beer pairing evening has just 20 places, so book now to avoid missing out.
