New Argentinian restaurant CAU for Didsbury
Argentinian beef expert CAU has now opened its 14th restaurant, taking over the former Zizzi’s on Wilmslow Road in Didsbury village. The chain aims to bring the energy and flavour of Buenos Aires to South Manchester with a menu that captures the vibrancy of Argentina’s capital city. CAU celebrates the best of Argentinian grass-fed beef (all from the famous Pampas plains) but for those who aren’t in the moo-d, the all-day menu also includes twice-cooked pork belly (£14.50), grilled salmon (£13.50) and chicken salad (£10.50).
Now open, CAU Didsbury, 700 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2DN. Tel: 01614 481 883, caurestaurants.com
Posca supper club at Trove
Independent cafe and bakery Trove is to play host to a supper club this Thursday (22 Oct) as Posca takes over the Levenshulme favourite. It is the brainchild of chefs Emma Tillyer and Ciara Tracy who view the takeover as an opportunity to experiment with processes while expanding their cookery skills. Tantalising offerings include rye berry risotto, sweet cured sea-trout and stuffed lamb’s heart. A five-course set menu with petit fours priced at £30 per person seems like a steal.
Thu 22 Oct, Trove Cafe & Bakery, 1032 Stockport Road, Levenshulme, Manchester, M19 3WX. Tel: 0161 224 8588. 7pm – 10pm, £30, www.eventbrite.co.uk
