Vegan book launch party and tasting
Former MasterChef and British Street Food Awards finalist Jackie Kearney is launching her second book of vegan comfort food, this one inspired by travels across Asia and North America as well as home favourites. Building on the success of previous supper clubs, the Gallery are joining forces this time with Anthony Lucy from Plaimont Wines to create another tasty menu. Plaimont is a French union of wine cooperatives which represents 400 families of winegrowers over four regions. Together with Manchester Art Gallery Café, a five-course menu of food and wine can be savoured this weekend in the stunning surroundings of the Gallery’s Drawing Room. Beginning with cheese pastry Gougères, there will be a starter of roast butternut squash velouté with goats cheese dumplings and sage, followed by seared monkfish, mussel broth and rainbow chard. A main of pheasant pie, liver parfait, savoy cabbage, chestnuts and truffle will then move onto a dessert of grapefruit posset with celery granita.
