Northern Monk (pictured) takes over at Common
Cult craft brewery Northern Monk is upping sticks from Leeds for a very special tap takeover at NQ favourite Common this Thursday. Northern Monk blends traditional monastic brewing values with a progressive approach to ingredients and techniques to create its range of stellar beers – including True North, Monacus and New World IPA to name a few. For this takeover, the brewery plans to take over seven of Common’s lines across keg and cask, promising rarities alongside established Northern Monk classics.

Tours and tutored tastings at Cloudwater
Tickets are now on sale for an opportunity to venture into the heart of Cloudwater Brew Co. The sessions – taking places over five Saturdays from this weekend – will include samples of Cloudwater’s new autumn range, an introduction to its work, a tour of the brewery and finally a tutored tasting. There will be the opportunity to try tasters of all of the brewery’s draft beers, including some samples fresh from tank, and take a complimentary glass and bottle of beer home.

Post Box Cafe and Dulcimer join forces for Halloween special
For a full-on fiendish feast this halloween two Chorlton favourites are teaming up for a joint spooktacular. The Post Box Cafe will host a three-course dinner – with live music from The Spooks, plus entertainment from Zombie Bros Circus and Phyllis Von Hoist – which will be followed by an afterparty at Dulcimer. Tickets are available from both venues and guests are advised to go all-out and dress to impress as prizes will be awarded for the best Halloween costume.

Ed’s Easy Diner opens in Debenhams
Debenhams on Market Street has broadened its food and drink offering with the opening of a new branch of Ed’s Easy Diner. For those shoppers who need refuelling, the Fifties Americana-style diner features an extensive menu including burgers, hot dogs, loaded sides, sodas and milkshakes, as well as genuine Dime Selector jukeboxes – with every penny spent in it being donated to Action Against Hunger.
