Better known as a late-night drinking den, Albert’s Schloss is now burning the candles at both ends with the launch of its summer breakfast menu. From 8am on weekdays and 9.30am on weekends, the Peter Street bar and restaurant will offer cruffins and kronuts, baked daily on site – plus a super grain bowl consisting of poached egg, mixed grains, avocado, pickled carrot, edamame and harissa, and an indulgent broke ‘n’ English sandwich, featuring broken egg yolk, treacle cured bacon, mature cheddar, avocado and red chill jam. Other breakfast treats include crayfish eggs benedict and roast peaches in quark yoghurt, with sour cherry and pistachio granola. We tried the latter, as well as the gut-busting royal breakfast, which was fit for (and large enough to satisfy) two kings. The veggie breakfast’s black pudding was well worth ordering as an extra too. With espresso martinis, bloody marys and white peach bellinis also on offer for those looking for boozy breakfast twist, plus a whopping 50% off the menu until 25 August (just say ‘Guten morgen’ on arrival), we expect this addition to the Schloss’ arsenal will go down a treat.
