Our favourite vegan restaurant, The Allotment, is moving from Stockport to Manchester city centre in November 2018. However, the new restaurant won’t be joining all the city’s other new openings in Ancoats (see Canto, Sugo, The Jane Eyre, Pollen and Mana). Instead, it’s taking over the former Buca di Pizza site on Lloyd Street. Head chef and co-owner is Matthew Nutter (Chef of the Year at the MFDF17 awards) and the restaurant will serve his signature tasting menus, amazing vegan cheeses (which we can’t recommend enough) and there will also be a bar area serving drinks, vegan wines and beers, snacks and so on. The move has come about after Nutter joined forces with businessman Anthony Sheridan, who also runs The Mitre Hotel among other restaurants and bars.
