Calling all hopeless romantics! Boy, have we got the spot for you. A brand new bistro serving genuine French cuisine is coming to Stockport later this year.

Part of the council’s lottery-funded plans to restore buildings in Stockport’s iconic Underbanks, Winter’s will be transformed into it’s former Grade II listed glory, with a fresh new food spot taking its place.

Once an esteemed jewellers, Winter’s was most recently taken over by Manchester institution Joseph Holt. Now the epochal building will take on a new journey as a quaint, cosy bistro in the rustic streets of Stockport.

The new restaurant will be offering affordable à la carte and fixed price menus, so you can get a taste of Paris without the price tag. There are also plans for a range of intimate events like wine tastings.

At the forefront of the new bistro is husband and wife duo Chef Marc Molé and Business and PR Manager Rachel Winter Jones. Born and raised in Paris, Chef Mark is eager to share his knowledge of traditional Parisian food, especially having trained in Washington with the former head chef to the French Ambassador.

His menu will have a heavy focus on local suppliers, including using fresh produce from Stockport Market, in hopes that the bistro will find itself soon to be an intrinsic part of Stockport culture. In addition, there are also plans hold events such as wine tastings, with other events also in the pipeline. Be sure to check back for more details on this exciting redevelopment.
