Iconic Northern Quarter hang-out spot Common has revealed plans to open a new pub at Kampus – Manchester’s brand new £250m garden neighbourhood on Aytoun Street – with a pizza shop directly next door. Cornerstone promises laid back vibes and a traditional bar aesthetic, with Nell’s Pizza – the team responsible for the huge – and hugely popular – pizza slices which became a local hit during lockdown – on food duty via a neighbouring slice shop.

Famous for its epic 22-inch pizzas, which are available either by the slice or as the whole thing, Nell’s has currently been operating out of Common’s Northern Quarter venue and The Beagle in Chorlton. Visitors to their new space at Kampus can enjoy their carby delights al-fresco in the neighbourhood’s airy outdoor seating area, together with a well-deserved post-lockdown pint from a much-loved Manchester institution.

Common’s new Cornerstone venture marks the first team to join the Kampus neighbourhood which sits alongside Canal Street in the vibrant and colourful centre of town. As lockdown starts to ease and normal life makes a steady return, it’s hoped that the area will become a new community. Visit Cornerstone’s Instagram page to join their mailing list and be the first to hear about details of their grand opening which is currently set for July.
