As if Ancoats’ historic Edinburgh Castle pub reopening last week wasn’t enough of a treat for residents and visitors to Manchester’s most thriving neighbourhood, another local fixture has been given a bit of a refresh and is set to open its doors this weekend (Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 November) Halle St Peter’s may not be the first thing to spring to mind when you’re craving some quality food and drink in Ancoats but this deconsecrated place of worship is finally home to a brand new cafe for both attendees of the church and its many events – and those who just fancy a bite and a brew. If you want to be one of the first to see the fruits of the venue’s lengthy, 18-month expansion, you can pay the Halle St Peter’s this weekend in the heart of Cutting Room Square as a full programme of events baptises this new-old space, with opportunities to listen or take part as you feel. Of course, attendees will also get the chance to be the first to sample the cafe’s new light menu.
