Stockport is setting itself up for an exciting summer, and plans for a new deli-bar from acclaimed chef Sam Buckley is only making their plans juicier.

Head Chef for the award-winning Stockport restaurant Where The Light Gets, Sam Buckley has announced plans to open a new bakery, deli, pottery studio and pizza and wine bar – all rolled into one.

Coming to 15 Lower Hillgate from Wednesday 25 August, Yellowhammer is a collaboration between Buckley, potter Joe Hartley, and baker Rosie Wilkes – who will be producing a wide variety of freshly baked produce for the bakery, including sweet and savoury bakes, breakfast and lunch sarnies, and all of the bread for Buckley’s main restaurant.

What’s more, on Fridays and Saturdays, Yellowhammer will transform into a pizza and natural wine bar, with the same dedicated commitment to sourcing local ingredients of only the highest quality.

It is through this commitment to conscious consumption that Buckley earned a green Michelin star for WTLGI – a new type of award created to recognise restaurants who are paving the way in sustainability.

Hoping to carry this prestige into his new venue, Buckley has centred the new menu around produce from his own urban farm, with each dish depending on what is harvested each day.

The new space will accommodate up to 30 seated guests, and is due to completely transform the old coffee warehouse that once stood in its place. Watch this space for updates…
