Northern Soul, purveyors of Manchester’s finest grilled cheese delights, have transformed their Church Street venue into a New York style deli, serving up a range of sandwiches, soups and sweet treats. Northern Soul Deli Co. officially opens its doors on Monday 24 February following a brief soft launch period. The news comes shortly after the Northern Soul team debuted their biggest restaurant to date on Tib Street, just around the corner from their original market spot on Church Street opposite the Arndale. Having given their old unit a Manhattan-style facelift, Northern Soul Deli Co. is set to serve up a range of New York-inspired savouries to the people of Manchester. Expect think cold-cut slices of meat stacked on fresh Vienna-style bread in the venue’s range of Hero sandwiches including the Italia 90 (prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, rocket, mozzarella and balsamic), Ruby Murray (tandoori chicken, bhaji scraps, mango chutney and mint raita) and of course a traditional  New Yorker (Pastrami, Rocket, Thinly Sliced Pickles & Mustard). Veggies are catered for too with their Hey Pesto (buffalo mozzarella, tomato, house pesto mayo and rocket) and ranges of quiches and soups. Great Northern Pie Co. will be providing some deep dish delights and visitors can also join them for breakfast, with Northern Soul Deli Co. also serving stax sandwiches guaranteed to help you start your day right.
