Music and telly fans rejoice, Fopp Manchester lives again! The popular Brown Street store located in the heart of Manchester City Centre closed its doors back in February after its parent company HMV announced it was going into administration. Thankfully its demise was short lived and the high street pop-culture chain was saved at the eleventh hour by Canadian retailer Sunrise Records – albeit with a few cuts. They managed to salvage a number of stores and jobs – but were forced to close 27 outlets, one of which was Manchester’s beloved Fopp. However as the weeks passed, its fixtures and signage remained in place, giving many hope that the store might return. Cut to just a few days ago and the team at Fopp Manchester made it official, reopening their doors for good on Sat 26 May much to the delight of music lovers across town. It looks like they’re back with a bang too, with more events teased and all pop-vinyl figures currently buy-one-get-one-free.
