Two Centuries since the release of Frankenstein, The Royal Exchange bring a brand new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic novel to the stage. April De Angelis is the acclaimed playwright tasked with shedding new light on a novel that has borne so many adaptations. With Matthew Xia, Associate Artistic Director at The Royal Exchange until the end of last year, directing the play will be sure to feel as relevant to now as it ever was. The cast comprises of Shane Zaza, no stranger to dark tales from his roles in Happy Valley and Black Mirror, alongside another Royal Exchange debutant in Ryan Gage.
Running from March until April, Frankenstein can still feel as fresh after two hundred years as it ever has.
