Send your imagination to other worlds when sOlar brings a surreal collage exhibition to Electrik in Chorlton. sOlar’s Lasers In The Jungle brings together a kaleidoscope of themes including science fiction, astronomy and wildlife. Using old-school tools of scissors and scalpels instead of digital methods, the artist has sent tigers to far-flung planets and seals into the orbit of space. All framed prints on display at Electrik will be available to buy. If you want signed prints, come to the opening night party on July 6 starting at 7pm. Music will come from Manchester electronic artist Nick Sinna, signed to the influential Prime Numbers label, and Pure FM’s Stu Richards. The exhibition’s not just for humans either – Electrik is a dog-friendly venue, so you can bring your pup when you check out sOlar’s collaged creatures and hotchpotch humans.
Thu 6 – Thu 20 Jul, Electrik, 559 Wilbraham Road, Manchester M21 0AE. TeL: 0161 881 3315, opening night 7pm, FREE, www.facebook.com
