There’ll be a sizzle on the streets of Chorlton with the 12-hour Put It In The Air block party later this month. Manchester’s longest running hip-hop promoters Taste The Diff’rence will bring some of the city’s best rap, funk and soul acts to Oddest. Heading the bill are the organic vibes of supergroup Cul Dé Sac, the huge ska-rap sounds of XMenBTeam, the massive talent of Northern Structure Records, the irrepressible Chalk and Jambox, representing Manchester collective The Natural Curriculum, and the fiercely fresh MCs Blind Mic and Afro Sam, who make up two thirds of Free Wize Men. The live acts will be supported by a riotous roster of DJs, including Taste The Diff’rence’s own MCs, turntablist DJ P-Nuts and world DJ championship finalist El Statiko. This is a marathon music celebration starting at 2pm – and with backing by el Jimador tequila, there will be plenty of cocktails to oil the wheels of steel – and your creaky dancing bones. Beefing up the music will be a summer barbecue on the sunny Oddest terrace, giving you the energy to party until the small hours to the biggest tunes in town.
