This crafty exhibition explores the intricate art of paper-folding. Kate Colin’s installation The Art of the Fold shows off her 3D creations which, when illuminated, turn into colourful lampshades. The Glaswegian maker’s solo show at Manchester Craft and Design Centre runs for ten weeks and follows an appearance at London Design Fair. The exhibition kicks off with a free launch party on Thursday (23 Nov) with tunes from DJ Ailsa McLaggan of Living Room Dance Club. Running from 6-8pm, the event is also ideal for picking up Christmas gifts from the other stalls and makers in the centre. The installation runs until the start of February 2018, finishing with an all-day workshop (Sat 3 Feb, 11am-4pm, book here) which you too can become a fearless folder, make your own lampshade and leave illuminated.
